Let's grow brinjal easily

Let's grow  brinjal easily Soil - Well-drained, fine-grained soil is suitable for brinjal cultivation. It is best to maintain the soil pH between 5.5 - 5.8. Climatic requirements - brinjal can be grown in areas with good sunlight, from sea level to an altitude of about 1300 meters. Seed requirement - About 350 grams per hectare. Nursery Management - Beds of 3 meters by 1 meter, arranged to receive the best sunlight, are suitable. The beds should be seeded. Add soil and manure in a 1:1 ratio. The seeds should be placed in rows with a spacing of 6 inches. Land preparation - Turn and level the land with a hoe or tractor. Planting - Plant the seedlings about 25-30 days old in prepared beds, one seedling per hole. Spacing - 90 cm x 60 cm. Watering - In dry areas, brinjal can also be cultivated with rainwater. Watering should be done to obtain a successful harvest and maintain it as a profitable crop. It is important to water the soil well during dry periods without allowing it...

How to prepare nurseries for planting crops

 Control And Maintenance of Nurseries

Nursery control for upland crops

A nursery is a temporary stand where planting materials are planted and cared for until they become suitable for planting in the field, providing a favorable environment for germination and plant growth.

Importance of nursery management

  • The environment suitable for plants can be controlled
  • Stronger and healthier plants can produce more growth.
  • Plants can be produced from small seeds that are difficult to plant directly in the field.
  • The required number of plants can be obtained with less seed quantity than that required in simultaneous planting of seeds in the field.
  • Care is easy
  • Only healthy plants can be selected and planted in the field.
  • Uniformity can be achieved in the field by selecting plants with similar growth.
  • Availability of recipient plants for grafting.

Nursery setting

There are four steps to setting up a nursery

  1. Choosing a suitable location
  2. Nursery mix and nursery setting
  3. Nursery sterilization
  4. Installation of planting material

1.Choosing a suitable station:-
  • Being a station that can always be paid attention to
  • Being a place that gets good sunlight
  • Being a station with water supply facilities
  • Being a convenient place to get water
  • Being a flat ground
  • A well-drained soil
  • Being a breast with no current air
  • Being a station with transport facilities

2.Nursery mix and nursery setting:-

  • Take one part topsoil and one part compost and dig

3.Nursery resuscitation:-

  • After selecting a suitable ground, mark the ground as required when setting up the high nursery with a width of one meter and length.
  • After that, mix the soil well and make a heap about 15 cm high
  • Depending on the type of bed you are making, you will need to change how you prepare the floor.
  • Raised nursery beds and sunken beds are prepared in the same area, while nursery trays and beds are used for other nurseries.
  • A drainage system should be arranged around the raised nursery bed in such a way that the water drains well
  • Take one part of topsoil and one part of organic fertilizer each and make the nursery mix and mix it well to prepare the soil of the nursery.
  • Level the surface well and bring the nursery bed to life.

4.Nursery bed sterilization:-

  • Nursery soil disinfection is very important to protect the seeds or planting materials used in the nursery from diseases.

Methods of Sterilization

Biodegradation by solar heat:-

Cover the prepared nursery thoroughly with transparent polythene
By keeping it closed for about a week, the soil will be well revitalized

Biodegradation by burning soil:-

Spread the surface of the nursery in layers of dill and straw
Stack four layers so that the top layer is straw and then fire the nursery against the direction of the wind.
Then it is saved by burning the entire nursery

Bed disinfection by hot water:-

By applying hot water that has been heated until the nursery is wet, the soil can be adapted to life

Biodegradation of bed using chemicals:-

Fungicides like Captan Thiram or Mai can be applied to the soil to revitalize the soil
